Can I rely on a price quote?

If your lender is reputable, the price quoted should be reliable. Most banks price their loans on a daily basis, even if it's just a matter of adjusting it a tiny percentage. By law, within three days after you have applied for a mortgage loan, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate and Truth in Lending disclosure statement including a complete breakdown of estimated closing costs and any other fees your lender may assess. But remember that even the most rock-solid GFE is still just an estimate.
